The Third

Well today is day three of hubby not being here and it's strange. Prior our move here we were only together on weekends .. if then. Now that we live together EVERY single day, we depend on eachother. I depend on him and I miss him. Each time something funny happens, he's not there to tell; when I'm excited, not there.

My heart goes out to the men and women with spouses, loved ones or sons & daughters who are deployed! I'm so sorry for what you live with daily.

That's not what this post was going to be about, but things come up ya know. Anyways, I miss him and keep thinking how much longer it will be till he comes home. ick.

Pickles

I had my hair cut on Saturday and feel sooo much better! I don't have any pic's to show yet, but it's [5 inches] shorter and it feels great! *I'm now really glad that she talked me out of cutting it to my shoulders like I had planned* My hair hasn't been this soft and manageable in ages; not that she had to do anything fancy, because really even an icky cut would have been an improvement .. but she is fantastic! She listened to everything I said, all my complaints and concerns about my hair and made them work! Oddly enough my hair is less frizzy. She didn't do any treatments and I'm using the same shampoo, it's the cut and it really makes a difference. Overall I'm happy and now looking forward to my appointment in 6 weeks :D

ok ok enough about my hair, Joe & I had a lovely three day weekend! We got a new dinning room table and patio furniture delivered moments before Julie [hair expert] arrived at our house. The dinning room table is fancy, gorgeous and I love it! My house looks so different, I will take plenty of pic's & post later. The patio furniture is also great, but it's still a bit too chilly to enjoy it, so I'm fixated on my dining room.

Since we now have two dining room tables, this means I officially have a crafty table! So far I have put my sewing machine, fabric & some scrap booking items on it. The old table minus the leaves fits perfectly in the corner of the guest bedroom. We had some people over and they said our house was warm & cozy, I thought it was the best compliment and honestly I couldn't agree more. I love being home. Now we just need a home that is ours, not the militaries!

On that note (dad I'm so sorry!) but Joe & I have been talking about where it's feasible to live and Texas is winning out Cali in a heartbeat. But let me tell you, this Cali girl's heart sinks at that thought of not living in what was known as home for so long; it's just what works best for us. I guess at least we'd be near some family ... right?

Baby screaming it's head off in the middle of the night and ruining my life, pie"

So, I finally saw The Waitress. I've been wanting to see this movie since Caitlin mentioned something interesting about it online; made slightly more interesting when I found out the writer died/was murdered. I was curious to see what this story, her dream, was about. This movie is sad and according to my husband, boring. While he's not far off, I sort of liked it. It's real, sad and touching. This woman, a waitress lives a terribly sad life, is married to an ass and she suddenly gets pregnant. Not wanting the baby makes matters quite complicated. I found I liked the way it was filmed, almost quirky. It does inspire me to make some pie.

Hair, to be continued . . .

I haven't had a hair cut in over a year, yes an actual full calendar year. January 2007 when I visited in Cali. I have an appointment, the woman is coming to my house and I'm super excited, I can't even get Joe to understand the excitement all he can think of is that my hair cut is going to cost so much more than his ... yeah that's the only time he thinks about NOT spending money hmph. Anyways I'd spend 3 times what she wants for the fact that it's happening. I have to wait for a couple of weeks, but still something to look forward to.

Beauty

Today we sought out some new cities and absolutely fell in love. It was a gorgeous 70 F kind of day and we had our first daytime experience of the Mediterranean Sea. We stopped at Pozzallo and have immediate plans to go back; while the water was chilly, the rocks slippery it -was loads of fun. Gella [our dog] was running and climbing and having a blast! We stopped at this little place for food, only to discover the owner is an American who moved overseas for her hubby, I LOVED the food as did Joe & friends. They [name & photos to come] even let us sit on their patio with our dogs, it was perfect! Beach twenty steps away, waves crashing, sunny warm day nice lite breeze and good food. The second city that Joe is eager to get back to, for the fishing possibilities is Donnalucata. This beach had more sand than rocks and very peaceful but we didn’t have the same lovely experience as Pozzallo. I’m exhausted from all the climbing, running and traveling around so I’ll have to continue this blog later ..

Movie Sickness

Another Halo obsessed guy we'll call Bob [Joe is playing a bit too much these days] suggested seeing a movie after work. Bob works just across the hall from me .. so we went and saw Cloverfield and we liked it, much to all our amazment. I thought it ended abruptly, but entertaining at least. It was filmed as though filmed with a personal camera and it's rather shaky, so DO NOT see this if you get motion sickness! A friday night of milk duds, popcorn and grabbing my hubby's hand; not too bad.
