Loosing it
I've been on a quest to loose weight and while I've been fairly successful (I'm half way to my goal) I have a complaint. Can a person complain when they are loosing weight? Well I'm going to!
As thrilled as I am to actually loose [any] weight, I'm disappointed that one particular piece of clothing is no longer fitting properly. My bra. It's so difficult to find decent bras here that I'm really bothered by this. Joe just doesn't understand, he said "go buy a new one". Oh husband if you only knew how annoying that suggestion was.
So that's one thing I'm looking forward to in the U.S., more retail options because sometimes function over beauty really does matter!

Überrascht
I haven't updated in awhile, partly because I don't know what to say.
I've learned that nothing is certain in the military, but I might be leaving in a month. There is so much to do and I feel terribly unprepared. I have so many mixed emotions about leaving, this is the first place Joe and I lived together and called home. I thought we'd have a few more months to take in all the bits that we love here, I feel like I'm getting ripped off!
Joe has been at medical appointments for the past couple of weeks [nothing is wrong, they are required] and is now submitting paperwork.
We don't know where our destination is or when we actually leave, but we know it is really happening.

Monday Project
I was talking to a very pregnant friend on Sunday about baby clothes, she mentioned she was quite disappointed about the selection and variety of clothing available here. I thought I could fix that. Her nursery colors are Red, Black and white with a skull & crossbone theme.
Here's what I came up with.
Basic Black Rit dye
One messy boiling potA few freshly printed iron on's
Baby clothing to suit the mom's taste!
Every onesie had a different design on it, I also did a few receiving blankets, burping clothes, washcloths and the cutest little booties & mitts. I was so excited to give it all to her I forgot to take pictures of everything, but it all turned out better than I could have hoped!

Christmas Dinner success!
Everything went really well, the food was good and most importantly the guys all liked it (they even went back for thirds!). Once everyone was stuffed we played games like we were all kids and had a blast, this was by far the best Christmas we've had here!

Preparation
I have been preparing for our Christmas fest for the past week! I started making cookies, since they hold the longest. So far I've made multiple batches of sugar, peanut butter, snickerdoodle (thanks to Abby), chocolate chip and fudge as well as meatballs. Tonight when I get home, I'll make the meatball sauce, a cheeseball, pumpkin pie, apple pie and cheesecake; the ham will start thawing and I'll chop everything I possibly can.
I know this will sound wrong, but I can't wait for it to be over! AND I appreciate my family meals SO much more lol
